“Treue Der Union” Monument
“Treue Der Union” Monument
Dedicated in 1866, this is the only monument to the Union cause south of the Mason Dixon line and one of only six sites in the nation which may fly the American flag at half mast in perpetuity. It marks the final resting place of men from Comfort and the surrounding area killed in the “Battle of the Nueces”.
