San Antonio Riverwalk
While staying at the historic Meyer Bed and Breakfast along the Cypress Creek, take a day trip to the Riverwalk. It’s just a short drive away, and after taking in the beautiful tree lined walkway with all of the shops, galleries and other attractions, you can return to Comfort and relax in your luxuriously appointed room at Meyer B&B.
Stroll along San Antonio’s Riverwalk, the “Paseo del Rio” along the banks of the San Antonio River. This famous pedestrian walkway along three miles of river in downtown San Antonio is one level below the street traffic, and is home to art galleries, museums, shopping, dining, entertainment and spas.
For an entertaining overview of the Riverwalk, take a carriage ride or just stroll along the foliage lined walkways along the river. For a view from the river, Rio San Antonio Cruises offers 35 minute narrated tours of the waterfront.
This Cypress tree lined walkway is a city park, maintained by San Antonio Parks and Recreation. The North Channel, with its garden like setting, is home to several art galleries. For a tranquil walk through the historic King William district, visit the South Channel area located on the east bank of the San Antonio River. This area was established by German immigrants in the 1840’s and is filled with homes and buildings of historic significance.
